Is IT Outsourcing a “Cure” for the IT Talent Shortage?
Today, browsing job listings online, you’ll come across thousands of IT sector job offers. Companies trying to attract new talent for their business are outdoing each other in their methods of reaching specialists and are eager to encourage technical cooperation specifically with the company they represent.
The traditional practice of publishing job listings on job portals is gradually becoming a thing of the past; we’re increasingly seeing cooperation offers in the form of sponsored ads, for example via social media channels – Facebook is a perfect example here – or other “sponsored news” on portals dedicated exclusively to IT specialists, such as GoldenLine.pl or LinkedIn.
We probably don’t need to mention the several calls per week that potential new IT employees receive from recruiters trying to convince them to join a new company. These activities only reveal a small fraction of the real scale of the problem – and the scale of the problem is only just beginning to grow, and it will certainly keep intensifying.
The most sought-after skills in 2015
According to market research conducted by our company, and further supported by our own observations of many companies and businesses across Poland and Europe, almost 54% of businesses have trouble recruiting specialized IT staff. Last year, the most pressing challenge for IT managers and recruiters was bringing on board Java engineers, .NET developers, Oracle engineers, and specialists familiar with Microsoft solutions such as Azure.
What if you still haven’t managed to bring on the talent you need, or it’s taking a very long time?
In reality, this is where the truly problematic phase of finding IT specialists begins. According to our report, the years 2016-2018 will be even more challenging when it comes to acquiring IT staff, and the situation will be made worse by the fact that the number of specialists in our country will keep shrinking. Currently, the IT specialist profession ranks 4th in Poland in terms of demand, and over the next two years it will be putting up a real fight for 3rd place.
It’s fair to say, then, that IT outsourcing, known as body leasing / team leasing, is an effective “cure” for the pressing problem of a shortage of specialists at your company.
Today, our company, as one of the providers of the service commonly known as IT outsourcing, has set out to meet clients’ needs by offering our service in a remote model.
The standard IT outsourcing model involves delivering the right expertise within 14-30 calendar days – which is fairly long. When you decide to choose our outsourcing service in the model we propose, a specialist or a team of specialists under the “command” of a project manager will be available to you within a maximum of a few hours.
